Date #19

You need to know a bit of background info to appreciate this date: Earlier this summer, I went on a date with a girl from the local college who turned out to be mostly crazy(I'll post this later). For the sake of this story, I will call her "Betty". I didn't talk to her after the date but still had her phone number saved in my phone under "Betty" About a month later, I started hanging out with a different girl who was also named "Betty." This Betty was a school teacher at a ghetto school in a bad part of town. She was in my phone as "Betty2"

The story:
At work one day, I got a text message from "Crazy Betty" asking me if I would go to a homecoming type dance with her at her school. I didn't look closely at the text and assumed it came from the teacher "Betty" and she was asking me to help chaperone a ghetto middle school dance. This sounded like a great cultural experience so I responded "of course! sounds awesome." A few more texts went back and forth and I eventually figured out that it was "Crazy Betty" asking me to go to some college dance for exchange students or something.

To avoid looking like a huge jerk, I decided I would man up and just go to the dance. I made an effort to be nice to the girl and her friends but after 5 minutes, I had had enough(there was no bar). I told my date that I wasn't having fun and that I was going to go meet some friends at a bar. She then got sad and wanted to come with me. I said "Look, I'm not going to lie to you. I did not have a good time tonight and you and I have nothing in common. Please don't invite me to anything like this again." This triggered an emotional meltdown and I wasn't about to hang around to see how it turned out. I promptly left and deleted her number from my phone.

Moral of the story: Delete crazy people from your phone. (Midland, Mi)
